The image shows a large white machine at the Northampton fuel terminal. It is located outdoors under the sky with clouds in the background. The machine seems to be connected to pipes and storage tanks on the ground.

Northampton fuel terminal

The Northampton fuel terminal is connected to the UK Oil Pipeline, enabling deliveries of gasoline and distillate products from the Thames refinery in the south and the Stanlow refinery in the north west of England. When BP sold the site to Essar UK (Infranorth) in 2018, px Group was awarded the O&M contract, achieving operational transition a year later. Today, px Group is the named duty holder of this Lower Tier COMAH site.

Since 2019, our O&M team has managed a number of tank inspections and completed the electrical site inspection programme to bring the site into full compliance, using px Group systems.

We’ve also worked with Essar UK to develop the site, moving from retail markets to seek out commercial opportunities including gas oil and kerosene. Increasing the storage and variety of fuel additives is also opening up the terminal to new retailers, with plant modifications undertaken by our expert engineering team.
